HARTFORD CONSERVATION

With the sad news that the Hartford Conservation Group has ceased to operate, the Village Hall Management Committee has taken up the baton of monitoring the environmental wellbeing of the village including the green spaces, unsuitable planning applications, heritage buildings and litter picks etc.

REFURBISHES VILLAGE SIGN

Subsequently the Village Hall received around £4000 from the HCG which is ring fenced within the Village Hall accounts for environmental projects, the first of which has been the timely refurbishment of the Village sign.

Thanks to the efforts of Glyn Mould of the Sacrewell Farm, Thornaugh, the sign is restored to its original glory having last been refurbished by him in 2008. It features All Saints Church, the 16th century Manor House and cows in the shade of riverside willows and was originally conceived by local artist Tony Twist. Local installation has been carried out by Village Hall committee members Ste Greenaul, Darren Blake and Mike Humphrey.
